When Mercury completely redesigned their second-generation compact four strokes, they really got it right! At only 84 pounds, this engine is a good fit for the transom of most 14’ aluminum boats as well as many inflatables. The unique tiller handle features Merc’s patented “twist grip shift” as well as a throttle friction control allowing one hand operation. The tiller handle swings up or down for improved portability or storage. A clever 5 position manual trim system with shallow water drive and a steering friction lever are conveniently located as well.
